My name is Nikole Tower, and I’m a recent journalism graduate from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I also minored in music. I’m looking forward to making a career in arts and culture journalism. Being at Cronkite, I found a love of reporting on local communities and shining a light on local artists of all varieties. If given the opportunity, I would also be interested in pursuing travel and photojournalism.

My adventures have taken me to San Antonio, Texas for the time being in order to live with my significant other. After graduating in December, I decided to make 2019 a gap year – a year to explore new possibilities, interests, hobbies, you name it. While that’s still true, the writing bug is still under my skin so my eyes are always open for new opportunities.

I am an Arizona native, born and raised. I have a lot of love for my home state from the mountains to monsoons. I have plans of traveling as much of the world as I can (whether for personal leisure or through work). My interest lies in music journalism and magazine writing, but I’ve always been intrigued by nature/science/travel magazines like I mentioned earlier. My love for writing began young, but I didn’t commit to magazine writing until my senior year of high school.

I have a personal blog that includes reviews of new albums, concerts and an “Artist to Watch” feature. However, being a student reporter and freelancer has limited the time I have to post consistently. I’m an amateur photographer, but I’m constantly learning during my free time. Outside of journalism, I have taken two years of Spanish in high school and one in college. Most recently, I have taken two years of Sign Language.
